Syria’s GBV and sexual violence 2017

The project on GBV and sexual violence in Syria lasted seven months, beginning in August 2017 and ending in February 2018.

In Aleppo, Idlib, and Antakya, SBF recruited 25 Human Rights Defenders (HRDs). After NDI training, where they work in communities to engage residents and explore societal techniques to enhance awareness and dialogue with local decision makers, they are empowered to promote women’s rights and address sexual and gender-based violence in the Syrian crisis.

There were 285 civic education programs, 118 decision-maker awareness meetings, and 52 community needs assessments.

14 SGBV survivors were referred to psychosocial support and social services by SBF-trained medical professionals, community health workers, and social workers.
