The GBV and sexual violence project in Syria, which lasted for 7 months، started in Aug 2017 and ended in Feb 2018. SBF has recruited 25 Human Rights Defenders (HRDs) in Aleppo , Idlib and Antakya.
SBF has empowered them to promote women’s rights and address sexual and gender-based violence in the Syrian conflict, after the NDI training, where they worked in communities to inlcude citizens, and identify community-based approaches to raise awareness and communicating with local decision makers. SBF has conducted 285 civic education sessions, 118 awareness meetings with decision makers and 52 needs assessments in their communities.
SBF has trained medical professionals, community health workers, and social workers has referred 14 to psychosocial support and social services for SGBV survivors.
